Muskie and Pike Miniature wood carving

 This is my 12 inch long finished wood carved muskie, with a decorative back board

 Thi sis the rough start of my 10 inch long Northern Pike woofd carving.

The sanding and shaping of the is almost finished.

 The fins have all been attached and tiny teeth have been added to the mouth.

 This is the finished painted carving.

This acrylic painting is a scene of the portage access point at Clearwater Lake that connects to McGregor Lake. The lighting is featuring a lot of contrast. The early summer colour on the shoreline and reflection is what I was trying express.

Progress on "After Heart Surgery" Illustration

This is the two progressive steps for this illustration recently created for a Toronto Star illustration.
The top artwork was rejected by the editor, he considered it but wanted something added that would  communicate the vitality of life and the heart shape needed more contrast.It had the symbolic shaped wings to show a more vibrant life force.

I dedicate this artwork to my Mother who recently passed away.
