Old photo of Giant Bass as a Full Colour painting

ARTWORK COPYRIGHT Charles Weiss 2013

Recently I found an old black and white photo of a real giant bass (possible record size )
being held by a men in overalls and brimmed hat. It looks like a vintage 1930's or earlier scene.
The giant bass looks to over 24 inches / 60cm in length and likely weighing close to twenty pounds
/ 8.5 kilos. I painted acrylic on canvas .

June 2013 Musky Hunter features my illustrated story

This is my caricature portraits of seven muskie fishing guides featured in a story I wrote for June 2013 Musky Hunter Magazine. I wanted the story to be a little zany and have them all trying to hold up one Giant muskie. The art is similar to what "MAD" magazine would create for their art cartoon style.
If the fish was real it would likely weigh 400 pounds /180 kilos! It's unfortunate the binding of the magazine creased Graham Bristows face.I've included the original art as a way to compare the way the printing was fairly accurate in it's duplication of my image.

The fishing guides include. leftto right Keith Davison, Greg Videki, John Anderson, Graham Bistrow, Terry Van deWauwer, Gord Pyzer and Rodel Misa.

New Jerkbait design "the Dragon"

This my new jerkbait design. I call it "the Dragon".
This design has taken 10 years to be finally developed.

Underwater photo of lure. A fish eye view.

The lure measures 10.25 inches in length and 1.5inches in width.
weighs about 2 ounces. I have a large #7 spinner blade added to the tail
this causes the lure to create a gentle fish (pike or muskie) attracting wobble.

This photo shows the two different sizes. The large is 10 inches The smaller size is 8 inches. This lure design has a front diving lip similar to a Believer and the back tail design is like a Suick Thriller Jerkbait. It has a wide wobble and is a bit jerky in it's swimming motion.. I think it willlook like a vulnerable wounded prey fish to a muskie/pike
following  it's action in the water.
